Executive Leadership

Brian J. MacClaren
Chief Operating Officer
Brian is the chief operating officer and co-founder of NOVACES. He is a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and leads the delivery of LSS training and mentoring for client programs. In addition to his ongoing instruction and mentoring, he has extensive experience developing LSS training curriculum for clients. He began his career developing the first-ever Lean Six Sigma (LSS) applications in the U.S. shipbuilding industry. With funding from the Office of Naval Research, he played a key role in helping Northrop Grumman Ship Systems (NGSS) to implement LSS for manufacturing and services in its Gulf Coast shipyards. Brian is currently responsible for designing and customizing the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt courses for naval aviation maintenance and logistics management, including the integration of Theory of Constraints (TOC) to achieve cost-wise readiness. Recently,  he was the lead facilitator in the successful completion of the first collaborative LSS effort between the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), the U.S. Navy Program Executive Office (PEO) for Ship Systems, the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), and NGSS called “Common Configuration Change Control Process.”  Brian earned his MS in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, MS in Engineering Management, and BS in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of New Orleans.
